In honor of National Gratitude Month in November, Rochelle Community Hospital created a gratitude tree. RCH utilized its existing Standards Tree decal in its basement and decorated it with colorful leaf post-it notes featuring what employees are thankful for. By the end of the month, it looked like a fall tree with its leaves turning.

Mobel Furnishings, pronounced (moe-bell), which means furniture in German, is located at 118 N. 3rd St. in Oregon across from City Hall and features custom handmade items such as coffee and end-table sets, floating and regular shelving, mantels and industrial style dining room tables with clean lines using one of many different kinds of wood including German Beech, White Oak, and old reclaimed pine from right here in Northern Illinois.

Stillman Valley High School Students of the Month for November 2023 were recently named.

Volunteers and city staff members have been hard at work in the City of Oregon decorating the town for the holidays.

COUNTRY Financial Representatives Kerry Wickler is pleased to support the Stillman Valley Fire Department with a donation of $1,500. The funds will be used to support the purchase of LED scene lighting. Wickler recently shared the support in a check presentation.

The Oregon Chamber of Commerce recently congratulated Lou Vander Wyst for his 20 years of service and dedication to helping local small businesses grow and prosper at Conover Square and the Old Piano Factory.

The Rochelle Elementary School District and the Rochelle Township High School District will have an item on their December meeting agendas on whether or not they will support placing a county facility sales tax on the ballot of an upcoming election, Shared Rochelle Schools District Superintendent Jason Harper said in an email Dec. 4.

November marked National Diabetes Awareness Month at Rochelle Community Hospital. Locally, the month at RCH included promoting diabetes information on its website and social media regarding diagnosis, types and management in an effort to increase awareness and debunk myths and misinformation.
