Polo baseball defeats Pearl City

The Polo High School baseball team defeated Pearl City 9-3 on Wednesday, March 20. Nolan Hahn led the Marcos on offense, finishing 4-for-5 with two RBIs while Scott Robertson went 2-for-5 with one RBI. Carter Merdian went 2-for-4 with two runs scored at the plate. Hahn and Robertson combined to strike out 12 Pearl City batters in seven innings pitched.

Polo softball edges Pearl City

The Polo High School softball team held on for an 11-8 win over Pearl City, scoring five runs in the first inning. Karlea Frey reached base four times and finished with four RBIs for the Lady Marcos, while Cheyenna Wilkins and Sydnei Rahn each totaled three hits. Izabella Witkowski went 2-for-4 with two singles and three RBIs. Frey pitched five and one-third innings, striking out three.

Oregon girls soccer takes down Winnebago

The Oregon High School girls soccer team took down Winnebago 8-2 behind three goals and two assists from Deborah Schmid. Anna Stender added three goals of her own, while Teagan Champley totaled one goal and two assists. Arianna Hammer chipped in one assist and both Kenna Wubenna and Mya Engekles dished out two assists for the Hawks (4-0).

Oregon softball dominates Plano

The Oregon High School softball team dominated Plano 16-1 with 11 runs coming in the first inning. Emma Schlichtmann controlled the Plano offense from the circle, while Ella Dannhorn and Gracen Pitts each had three hits. Kaelin Shaffer and Abree Barker each had two hits.

Polo baseball scores win over Hiawatha

The Polo High School baseball team defeated Hiawatha 6-1 on Thursday, March 28. Nolan Hahn tossed a complete game on the mound, striking out 16 batters without a walk while allowing just one hit. Gage Zeigler went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs at the plate. Jacob Monaco also added two hits, going 2-for-3 with one RBI on the Polo side.

Polo softball falls against Warren Stockton

The Polo High School softball team fell 9-3 against Warren Stockton. Cheyenna Wilkins started in the circle, throwing four innings before Karlea Frey followed with three innings of relief. Wilkins and Cam Jones each totaled two hits, while Avalyn Henry doubled and both Frey and Allissa Marschang singled. Jones also swiped two bases for the Lady Marcos in the game.

Polo softball earns win over Dixon

The Polo High School softball team picked up a 6-4 win over Dixon. The Lady Marcos took a 5-2 lead after a two-run single from Makayla Cisketti. Polo totaled 11 hits in the game, with Sydnei Rahn going 3-for-4 and recording one RBI. Leah Tobin singled, doubled and added one RBI, while Izabella Witkowski and Cam Jones each singled twice and finished with an RBI. Jones pitched all seven innings, striking out nine batters.
