ELGIN — The Byron High School speech team had several students earn top honors during the Taylor Swift Eras Tour-nament in Elgin on Saturday, Jan. 20. First-place finishes in the finals and next-in finals included Abbie Baker (informational speaking), Fynn Remhof (radio speaking), Nova Rakowski (dramatic interpretation) and Elinor McHale (original comedy). Second-place finalists and next-in finalists included Nova Rakowski (prose speaking), Amie Rosa (humorous interpretation) and third-place finishers included Amie Rosa and Masyn Brown (humorous duet acting) and Avril Silva (extemporaneous speaking).
