OREGON — Mary Louise Baker, age 82, died suddenly on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was born February 7, 1942 in Spring Valley, IL the daughter of George Elmer and Mary Louise (Borri) Nave. She graduated from Spring Valley Hall High School in 1960. Mary Louise married Gerald Edward Baker on November 16, 1963 at the St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Dalzell, Illinois.  She worked for Jonas Martin Well Drilling in Oregon, IL. She was a devoted member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oregon, IL. She also was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Red Hat Club. She was extremely proud of her sons, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters. She was very involved in their activities and sports throughout the years. She therefore became an avid Butler University fan. Mary Louise became an excellent scout of ducks and geese for her husband and sons. She was a very kind hearted lady and would go above and beyond to help anyone. She was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Louise Nave, her brothers George (Delores) Nave and Andrew Nave, her brother-in-law's Edward Stasik and Marty Tesch. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Gerald "Jerry" Baker, Sr. of Chana, sons Gerald "Jerry" (Lisa) Baker, Jr. of Mt. Morris, and John (Lindee) Baker of Mt. Morris, granddaughters Abigail Baker of Oregon, and Haylee Baker of Mt. Morris, sister Nancy Stasik (Dave Stremlau) of Mendota, IL, sister-in-law Nancy Tesch of Peru, IL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Christian funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oregon, IL with the Rev. Joseph P. Naill officiating. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM followed by a 7:00 PM Rosary. A memorial fund is established for the EWTN, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Serenity Hospice and Home.
