Dec. 22

At 11:40 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Police responded to a truck in the Rock River with one occupant. This was in the 10900 block of North Illinois Route 2. The driver was helped from his truck and later taken to Swedish American Hospital for treatment. The driver was treatment as Roger Durham, 65 of Rockford. The Byron Fire Department and Maggios assisted at the scene while Winnebago County Sheriff's Police and Byron Police Assisted with traffic control. The investigation is pending.

At 8:20 p.m. Deputies stopped a 2006 Jeep on I39 mm 109 north bound for speeding.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Donald Johnson 24 of DeKalb Il for Driving While License Suspended. Johnson was released on scene and will appear in court on 02-03-21 at 9 a.m. 

Dec. 20

At approximately 1:24 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 9500 block of E Illinois Rte 64.  Upon further investigation, Deputies arrested Christopher N. Rollin, age 44 of Rochelle, for Driving While License Suspended.  Rollins was released on an Individual Bond and set a return court date.  Rollin was also cited for Speeding in excess of 35 mph over the speed limit.

At approximately 1:16 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of S Lowell Park Road. After investigation, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Andrew Stowell, 28 of Dixon, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Stowell was also issued citations for Speeding and Transport Alcohol by Driver. Stowell was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond. 

The OCSO arrest Juan Sanchez, 30, of Rockford for Driving While License Suspended. Sanchez was arrested by Deputies on I-39 near Rochelle after being stopped for Speeding. Sanchez was released on an I-Bond and will appear in Ogle County Court at a later date.

At approximately 11:24 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle traveling west bound on Illinois Route 72 from Pecatonica Road. The vehicle had also fled from Dixon PD, Oregon City Police, Mount Morris Police, Forreston Police, and Ogle County Deputies earlier in the evening.  The vehicle fled into Forreston and stopped at Main St. and 1st Ave where the driver, later identified as Stephen A. Muhleback, 25 of Rockford, exited the vehicle and fled from Deputies on foot.  A short time later, Deputies located and arrested Muhleback for Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Reckless Driving, Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Driving While License Suspended.  Muhleback was also cited for Speeding, Improper Traffic Lane Usage, Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, No Registration, No Insurance, and Equipment violation.  Muhleback was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with No Bond.

Dec. 19

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Johnny Tate, 52 of Rockford, Driving While License Revoked. Tate was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies on I-39 near Rte 64 after being stopped for Speeding. Tate was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

At 3:05 a.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, Rochelle Fire Dept and Steward Fire Dept. were dispatched to a single vehicle roll over crash on I-39 at I-88. Investigation by Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies revealed that a vehicle driven by Lindsay Monroe, age 33 of Rockford, was exiting I-88 to N/Bnd I-39 when he lost control of the vehicle. As a result the vehicle overturned coming to rest on the North Bound lanes of I-39. Monroe was transported by Rochelle FD ambulance to Rochelle Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Dec. 18

At approximately 1200 hours, Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black Dodge Neon in the 3,000 block of S. IL Route 251.  It was learned the registration on vehicle belonged to a Buick sedan. Upon completing an investigation, Dartayvious Sims, 24 of Rockford was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon as a Felon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in a vehicle, No Foid Card, Driving on a No Valid License and Driving While License Suspended.  Sims was also issued additional citations for Expired registration, No Valid Regsitration, Failure to provide a Driver's License, and No Front Registration Plate. Sims was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.  

Dec. 16

At 3:14 p.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Walmart in Rochelle on a 2003 Toyota for a lane violation.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Leonardo Galvan 61 of Rochelle for driving while license suspended.  Galvan was released on a notice to appear and will appear in court on 1/22/2021 at 0900 hours. 

At 5:20 p.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I39 at mile marker 100 northbound on a 2000 Honda Accord.  After a short investigation Deputies arrested Arnold Horton, 55 of Aurora, for driving while license suspended.  Horton was released on a notice to appear and will appear in court on 02/27/2021 at 0900 hours.   

Dec. 14

At 5 p.m. Deputies served a search warrant in the 200 block of Hastings Ave, Oregon. As a result of the search warrant Deputies arrested Ryan J T Corson 19 of Oregon for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis a class 4 felony and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with the intent to deliver a class 3 felony.  Ryan Corson was transported to the Ogle County Jail and will appear in bond court on 12/15/2020. Deputies were assisted by the Oregon Police Department. 

Dec. 13

Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Andrew P Lamb, 29 of Kirkland, when he turned himself in to the Ogle County Jail.  Lamb was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Speeding. He posted the 10% of the $3000.00 bond, was released, and will appear in court on 01/08/21 at 9 a.m..

Dec. 12

At 4:37 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I39 at Big Mound, and after a short investigation arrested Juan Palacios, 52 of Omaha NE, for No Drivers License. Palacios was released on scene and will appear in court on 01/22/20 at 9 a.m.

Dec. 7

Jessica Lewis, 33 of Oregon was arrested for two outstanding Ogle County warrants for Failure To Appear ($944 full cash bond) and Retail Theft ($10,000/10%). Lewis was unable to post bond and will appear in court on 12/08/20 at 1 p.m.

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Timothy Coleman, 34 of Madison, Wis., for Driving While License Revoked. Coleman was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies on I-39 near Rte 72 after being stopped for Speeding. Coleman was released on a I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

Dec. 6

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Latoya McHenry, 25 of Machesney Park, for Driving While License Suspended. McHenry was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies on I39 near Rte 64 after being stopped for Speeding. McHenry was released on an I-bond and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date.

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Munyonge Tembele, 23 of Des Moines Iowa, for Driving While License Suspended. Tembele was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies on I-39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for Speeding. Tembele was released on an I-bond and will appear in court at a later date.

Dec. 5

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jonathan Thurmond, 31 of Lockport, for Driving While License Suspended. Thurmond was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies on I-39 near Rochelle after being stopped for speeding. Thurmond was released on a I bond and will appear in court at a later date. 

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jesus Orozco, 29 of Rochelle, for Domestic Battery. Orozco was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Dec. 3

Alexandra Schaefer, 29 of Rochelle, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Aggravated Battery. Schaefer posted the $5,000/10% bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Schaefer will appear in court on 12/18/20 at 9 a.m.

At approximately 7:20 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East IL Rte 38 and South Brooklyn Rd. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Kayla Martin, 30 of Ashton, for Driving While License Suspended. Martin was also issued citations for Expired Registration and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Martin was released from the scene on an I bond with a court date later next month.

At 9:20 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies  responded to 118 S. 1st Ave in Forreston to assist the Forreston Police Department at the scene of a disturbance. During the Forreston Police Department’s initial response to the scene a Forreston Police Officer observed a male standing in the doorway of the residence who was displaying a weapon. The Forreston Police Officer then discharged his firearm and struck a wall near the doorway. The male then put down his weapon and was taken into custody without incident. The Illinois State Police were contacted and responded to the scene to investigate the discharge of the firearm by the Officer. Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the original disturbance and as a result of that investigation Jeffery L. Slick, 31 of Forreston, was charged with Aggravated Assault and placed under arrest. Deputies also arrested Colton Moser, 18 of Leaf River, for Domestic Battery. Both Slick and Moser were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in Lieu of Bond.

Dec. 2

At approximately 2:38 p.m., Deputies responded to the report of a Battery at 3890 North IL Rte. 251 with an injured male victim.  After investigation, Deputies placed Adam Sherman, 27 of Rockford, under arrest for Aggravated Battery. Sherman was transported to the Ogle County Jail where hes being held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.  Stillman EMS also assisted with the incident and transported the victim to Swedish American Hospital. 

The following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:

Jamar D. Baker, 31 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended. Baker was issued a $1,000 recognizance bond and will appear in court on 12/23/20 at 9 a.m.

Mark R. Much, 51 of Dixon, for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Much was unable to post the $5,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 12/03/20 at 1 p.m.

Dec. 1

Megan Tracy, 38, of Davis Junction was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff’s Office for a Failure to Appear arrest warrant. Tracy has a bond of $1853.50 and will go to court on 12/01/2020 at 1 p.m. Tracy remains in the Ogle County jail.

Nov. 30

At approximately 9:40 a.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a blue Buick Regal in the 13000 block of E. Big Mound Rd for Failure to DisplayVehicle Registration. After conducting an investigation, Brandon Wright, 27 of Holcomb, was arrested for No Valid License. Wright was also cited for No Valid Insurance and No Valid Registration. Wright was issued an I-Bond and released on scene. Wright will appear in court on a later date.

Nov. 29

At approximately 2:14 a.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 1500 block of West Montague Road. After further investigation Elizabeth Bell, 44 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bell was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.
