OREGON – The Oregon Park District is excited to announce Camp Oh-Pea-Dee will return this summer.
Summer camp will be offered each week that the Oregon School District is on summer break.
Tentatively, the first week of camp will begin on May 20 and run through August 11.
Camp is open for children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in the fall of 2021. Drop-off is between 6:30-8:30 a.m. and pick-up is until 5:30 p.m.
Camp Oh-Pea-Dee focuses on fun, peer interaction, planned and themed activities, library program, swimming and exploring our local parks. Our traditional Camp Oh-Pea-Dee will look a little different this year with smaller numbers and a change in location, but we are excited for the changes!
All IDPH and CDC guidelines will be adhered to at the time of camp. Sanitation protocols will be in place to ensure a safe environment for both the campers and staff. Temperatures will be taken upon arrival.
Camp will be held at Nash Recreation Center this summer. This change in location, for this year only, offers a central location to all our parks and the use of Nash Recreation Center. Campers will have their own stationary classroom adjacent to the gymnasium to allow for easy access to a variety of recreational opportunities plus use of our pool. The outdoor deck will also offer an enclosed area for eating and enjoying the outdoors. The move to Nash Recreation Center was due to a variety of upgrades to The Blackhawk Center and Oregon school buildings. Rather than work around construction we decided to create a new experience at Nash!
Participants will also enjoy local field trips, parks, splash pad and exploring Oregon!
Due to COVID-19 protocols, camp numbers will be limited to 24 campers each week. Parents can sign children up for as many weeks as they like with an easy deposit system to secure their time for the summer. Registration will include the entire week. Campers may choose to attend fewer days, but the cost will be the entire week. Campers can cancel up to 14 days prior to the enrolled camp week for a refund minus their 10% deposit. A waiting list will be available if a camp week is filled.
Registration will open on Monday, March 1 both online and by phone at 8 a.m. Our new system will allow parents to either pay in full at time of registration or reserve their week with a 10% non-refundable deposit for each week booked. The registration fee, less the 10% deposit, will be due 10 days prior to the registered week using our automatic payment plan.
