Byron Civic Theatre helps kick off the holidays with "A Classic Christmas"

Sam Barkalow, an eighth grader shakes hands with veteran Alan Genandt and Natalie Sciutto, a seventh grader, with Raymond Kump at the end of the Veteranís Day assembly held at Forreston Jr./Sr.High on Monday, November 11. †The veteranís were served a complimentary breakfast, followed by an assembly in the gym with the high school and junior high students in attendance. †The high school band played ďThe National AnthemĒ and a medley of the armed services songs to honor the local veterans from several branches of the U.S. military. †Chaplain Tim Hotchkiss, Army Reserve, 389th Engineer Battalion, from Dubuque, Iowa, spoke about patriotism and veterans and American Legion members Paul Eschbach and Jim Ascher did the traditional thirteen fold of the American flag, while the symbolism of each fold was explained by private 2nd class Jacob Poffenberger, currently a senior at FHS.
