STARTING April 1st, Angel Treasures Resale Shop will be moving to their new location at 4045 West Route 64, Mount Morris. The decision to move locations was simple. Hospice was responding to feedback received from the community which sited inadequate parking at the current location in Oregon. Many of the donors said they'd driven around the block several times and then decided to just donate elsewhere due to lack of parking.
In addition to parking the there are many new perks at the new location. There is a nice entry for donations with double doors and direct access into our donation receiving room. The new store will have a complete new look and feel. It will be more upscale in appearance but will have the same low prices that have been the store signature for many years. Hospice will also offer to pick up donations. This will be done by volunteers will be limited to their availability for all pickups.
Another addition to the new location with be a section with items made by Angel Treasure's and Hospice's valued volunteers including blankets, corn bags, hats, cards, etc. Anyone interested in donating craft items to be sold in the volunteer section can contact Margaret Clark at 815-732-2499 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Lastly, Hospice plans to extended hours one day a week. Once a month they will host a fun event on the extended night, such as jewelry making, designer purse exchange, etc.
Angel Treasures has benefitted Serenity Hospice and Home for many years, opening their doors in Oregon in 2001. In 2012, Angel Treasures provided $17,603 in support for our organization. With continual cuts in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, these additional funds help to provide hospice services to those in need in the community.
Lynn Knodle, Executive Director of Serenity Hospice and Home thanked the community for the success of Angel Treasures. "The support we received from those in the town of Oregon and surrounding communities, both in donations and sales, is very much appreciated. Although we were unsuccessful in our efforts to find a suitable new location in Oregon, we will only be five minutes down the road. It is our hope that those that have supported Angel Treasures store will continue to do so in our new location."
Serenity Hospice and Home is in search of volunteers to work at the new location. Volunteers will assist donors in bringing in donations, help prepare donations for sale, stock racks and shelves, assist customers, and help keep the store clean and organized. They are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to pick up donations at a donorís home, for those who are unable to travel themselves. All volunteers will be required to go through a four-hour training session on customer service and bereavement and will undergo a background check. Volunteers must be willing to work a four hour shift at least once a week, on a regular basis.
If you are interested in becoming an Angel Treasures volunteer, please contact Kathy Groenhagen or Lynn Knodle at 815-732-2499 or send an email to email@example.com. All proceeds of Angel Treasures further the mission of Serenity Hospice and Home. Thank you to all the current outstanding volunteers. Your efforts have made Angel Treasures the success it is today.
