Myron A. Leather

BYRON — Myron A. Leather, 94, of Byron died Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Oregon Health Care Center with his wife, Connie and step-daughter, Kathy Dunn by his bedside.
He was born Nov. 21, 1918 in Egan, IL the son of Franklin Edgar and Rosa Ellen (Ryan) Leather.
Myron worked at Sundstrand in Rockford, farmed in the Byron area, drove school bus, and was the retired owner of Leather Appliance.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Byron and was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus in the Byron Council. Myron married Connie Woodhead Bousum on June 21, 2003.
Myron was proud to obtain his student pilot's license, enjoyed woodworking, and making music on the omni-chord harmonica.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; sons, James (Eve) Leather of Stillman Valley, and Jack (Vicky) Leather of Chattanooga, TN; step-daughters, Kathy (Dennis) Dunn of So. Beloit, IL, who referred to him as "Pop", Cher (Gary) Lane of Chesapeake, VA, and Carol Brauer of Stillman Valley; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar and John, sister, Rose Ann, and a granddaughter.
Christian funeral mass were held Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Byron with Father Howard Barch as celebrant.
