Helen Leona (Nutt) Waterson

BYRON – Helen Leona (Nutt) Waterson, age 92 of Byron passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was born March 5, 1920 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Sylvestor Smith and Viola Mary (Parks) Forrester.
She married Roy Issac Nutt on April 5, 1938. He passed away on October 15, 1953. She then married Jesse Waterson on May 8, 1976. He passed away on July 19, 1993.
She worked at J.L. Clark for 30 years, retiring from there at the age of 62. She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her flowers, and her shopping trips to the store for groceries.
She was the last of 13 siblings.
Helen is survived by 5 children: Barb (and the late Everett) McNames of Byron, Mary (Paul) Maas of Byron, David (and the late Emily) Nutt of Leaf River, Kay (Don) McDanel of Byron, and Pam (Glenn) Hilton of Byron, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, step-son Jack (Nila) Waterson of Indiana, and 1 step-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her 2 husbands, 13 siblings, her parents, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St in Byron. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial was at Willwood Burial Park in Rockford
