Paul James Gerardy, Jr.

OREGON — Paul James Gerardy, Jr., 43, of Oregon, died Friday November 9, 2012 in Oregon. He was born in St. Charles, on September 18, 1969.
He was a 1987 graduate of Leland High School and then attended NIU for his Bachelor’s Degree and his Master’s Degree.
He married Marcy L. Springborn on September 12, 1992 in Hinckley.
Paul was a systems analyst at Ingersoll Cutting Tool in Rockford. His passion was running and he served as the cross country coach at Rahn Jr. High, was a member of the “Big Bertha” running group, competed in numerous half and full marathons, and was proud to have completed an Iron Man competition in Madison, WI.
Survivors include his wife, Marcy; son Branden “Bob”, at home; mother, Louise Gerardy of Hinckley; father, Rev. Paul (Lynn) Gerardy, Sr. of Zion; sisters, Annette (David) Ditzler of Polo, Pamela (Steve) Moga of Oswego, and Leslie Gerardy of Sandwich; brother, Bruce (Laurie) Gerardy of Stillman Valley; parents-in-law, Bill and Joyce Springborn of Iron River, MI; sister-in-laws, Lisa (Dan) Norris of Des Plaines and Karla Springborn of Lancaster, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother, Stephen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon with his father, Rev. Paul James Gerardy, Sr., officiating. Visitation wasTuesday from 5:00 p.m. until time of service.
