OREGON — Elizabeth Ann Jergens, 75, of Oregon passed away Tuesday Nov. 6, 2012 in Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon. She was born October 20, 1937 in Bancroft, Iowa the daughter of Clemens and Bertha (Blocker) Elsbecker.
A long-time Oregon resident, Betty was an active member and volunteer of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon. She worked several years at the Ogle County Senior Citizen’s Center, formerly Yellow Bird, and at Casey’s General Store in Oregon.
Survived by nine children, Curt Jergens, TX, Jackie Holloway, Oregon, Tom (Brenda), Malta, IL, Patsy (Bruce) Lepke, Rockford, Tony (Tina), Wichita, KS, Deanna Forristall, Dixon, John Jergens, Oregon, Mary (Lance) Blake, Winnebago, and Barb Stone, Oregon; grandchildren, Adam, Amanda, Blake, Anna, Haley, Joslyn, Teagen, Elizabeth, Sean, Kyle, Zachary, Kaden, Sydney, and Cody; step-grandchildren, Kristina (Tyler), Kyle, and Kurt; great grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden, Jacob, Chloe, Brayden, and Aubrey; step-great grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, and Audrina; siblings, Maurice (Charlene), Phil (Geri), Richard (Norene), Gene (Ruth), and Mary; and several nieces and nephews.
Christian funeral mass was held Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon with Father Joseph Naill celebrating. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation was held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon.
