Gracie Mae Mosiman

BYRON—Gracie Mae Mosiman, of Byron, was welcomed home by God on Thursday November 8, 2012. She was born March 19, 1920 in Trenton, Ohio the daughter of Carl and Viola (Wittenburg) Schafer. Gracie married C. Eldon Mosiman in Trenton, Ohio on July 27, 1941; he died in 1999.
Gracie was a longtime active member of the United Church of Byron, where she was involved with the Women’s Circle and the choir. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and sharing her flowers and vegetables with others. The most important area of her life was her family.
Survivors include son, Steven (Delores “Dee”) Mosiman of Dubuque, Iowa; daughters, Cynthia (Dean) Frye and Sherry Schmidt both of Rockford;10 grandchildren; Michael (Renee) Mosiman, David Mosiman, Julie (Robert) Ross, Caroline (Kelly) Welter, Joshua Smith, Rachel (Jeff) Bland, Jordan (Courtney) Smith, Catherine (Mark) Giddons, Laura Smith, and Josiah Smith; great grandchildren, Kaden and Callum Welter, Luke and Mark Mosiman, Samuel Eldon Bland, and Miles, Quentin, and Amelia Ross.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, William and Louis Schafer.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to VNA Hospice for their support and care of Gracie. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday Nov. 12, 2012 at the United Church of Byron with the Rev. Michael Mulberry, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Byron Cemetery.
