Marvin Keith Bollman

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Marvin Keith Bollman, 77, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at The Manor Care, Davenport, IA. He worked for Borden Milk Co. in Dixon, Martin-Marietta in Oregon, and as a Wal-Mart Greeter in Dixon and Sterling.
Marvin was born July 6, 1935 in Sterling, the son of Wilbur and Marian (Swartz) Bollman. He served in the U.S. Army. Marvin was an avid collector of toy tractors and trucks. Being a greeter at Wal-Mart was more than a job to Marvin, it was his passion as he enjoyed all of “his” customers and co-workers.
Survivors include, his children, Karen Busser of Byron and Steven Bollman of Dixon; three grandchildren, Danielle (Chris) Schindlbeck of Arlington Heights, Benjamin Busser of Oregon, and Kayla Busser of Byron; one great granddaughter, Sophia Schindlbeck; his mother, Marian Bollman of Dixon; two brothers, Dale (Diana) Bollman of Harmon and Frank Bollman of Rock Falls; and one sister, Janet (Jim) Warner of Stillman Valley.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one son-in-law, Paul Busser.
Visitation was from 2-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, with the family present from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 13, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Brown, chaplain of Heartland Hospice, officiating. Burial with full military graveside services provided by the combined veterans’ organizations, will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Dixon.
A memorial has been established to the Dixon Veterans Park.
