Charles Ray Turner Sr.

DAVIS JUNCTION – Charles Ray Turner Sr., age 78, died Monday June 25, 2012 at Rochelle Gardens Care Center. He was born on December 18, 1933 in Piggott, AR the son of Robert and Vivian (Birchett) Turner.
Charles married Patsy June Nash on April 16, 1955 in McDougal, AR. He retired from JL Clark after working there for 37 years and he was a member of First Baptist Church in Rochelle.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; children, Cheryl (Arthur) Ellsworth, Charles Jr. (Chris) Turner, Marjorie (Steve) Moore, Betty Sheets, Lisa (Mitch) Holby, and Nancy (Tony) Matheny; brothers, Gerald, Richard, Gaylon, and Zeff Turner; sisters, Pauline Armsmer and Ethel Nisewonger; sister-in-law, Georgie; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Charles is predeceased by his parents, daughter, Diana, brothers, Robert Jr. and Dallas, sister, Peggy, and grandson, Doug Patton.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 810 Woolf Court in Rochelle with Pastor Douglas Cowan and Pastor Steve Moore officiating. Visitation was held from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Stillman Valley. Burial was at Big Mound Cemetery, Davis Junction.
