Rock River Center offers help to seniors with prescriptions

Posted: Friday, Jun 22nd, 2012

Dear Editor,

In the news we are constantly hearing about our states financial crisis. In order to cut dollars, the Illinois Cares Rx program was recently eliminated, which will affect approximately 1900 people in Ogle County alone. On July 1, this prescription assistance program offered to qualifying Illinois residents will no longer be available. Notices were first mailed on the 13th of June and are still being mailed.

Rock River Center is here to help residents through this maze. Trained staff can assist older adults in exploring their options. Help with shopping for another plan, understanding what the current one will offer, exploring Medicaid, filling out applications or just understanding the letter they received can be obtained by making a phone call or possibly an appointment with staff at Rock River Center. No fee is charged.

Rock River Center is here to provide resources, activities, and services that improve the quality of life for Ogle County’s older adults, the disadvantaged, and caregivers.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who supports us and what we do.

Ann Haas

Assistant Director

Rock River Center, Oregon
