Barbara E. Mahon

DAVIS JUNCTION – Barbara E. Mahon, age 91, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Neighbors Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Byron.
She was born on November 3, 1920 in Quincy, the daughter of Walker and Cornelia (Tiefenbrunn) Lange. She was a 1942 graduate of Blessing Hospital School of Nursing in Quincy. She was a registered nurse at the Rockford TB Sanitarium, Rockford Memorial Hospital and Swedish American Hospital.
Barbara married William Mahon in Jacksonville, Fla. on January 25, 1947.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and formerly enjoyed bowling.
She is predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.
Barbara is survived by her husband, William of Davis Junction; children, Margie Mahon of Milwaukee, Wisc., Dennis Mahon of Ariz., Daniel Mahon of Okla., and Gary Mahon of Byron; grandson, William R. Mahon; and great-grandson, Clayton Mahon.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
