Byron Park District to host boys and girls basketball tournament in November

BYRON -- The Byron Park District will be hosting boys fifth and sixth grade and girls seventh and eighth grade basketball tournaments. Please note divisions will be separated by each grade. Maximum of eight teams in each division. IHSA officials will be used.
Space is limited so please hurry. Cost is $125 per team.

Oregon Hawks lose season opener at Richmond Burton

OREGON -- The Oregon Hawks started the 2010 season with one of the toughest opponents they will face this season. Richmond-Burton returned 24 seniors from their 2009 team that made it to the IHSA Class 4A semifinals, and the Rockets were fired up, defeating the Hawks 34-8 in Richmond.

Byron golf team wins shootout with Johnsburg, Le/Win

BYRON -- The sixth annual Tiger shootout was held on Aug. 20.
Team results were:
Byron, 166
Johnsburg, 168
Le/Win, 182
Rockford Christian Life, 186
Rain shortened the shootout to nine holes because of storms and lightning.
