OREGON — Steve and Kym Kenney, Oregon, announce the graduation of their son, Colby Kenney, from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, New York, on June 18, 2012. The congressionally-nominated graduated received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation and his government-issued merchant marine officer license.
Captain Mark Kelly, Class of ‘86 and a former NASA astronaut, gave the Class of 2012 commencement address before a crowd of more than 2,000 graduates, family members and representatives from the federal government, Armed Forces and maritime industry. His wife, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, was also present.
