STATELINE area police and fire chaplains have planned a “Blue” service for all Ogle county residents. The service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Oregon Fire Station. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend. The service will be held to remember the tragic loss of life on September 11, 2001 in the terrorist attacks and also be a time to honor the dedication and sacrifices of the local men and women working as first responders in law enforcement, the fire service and emergency medical services.
Attending first responders will wear their dress blue uniforms. There will be an honor guard from the Mount Morris Fire Department, a procession by the Fourth Degree Knights, special music by Debby Katzman and participation by several area police and fire chaplains. Byron Fire Chaplain, Gary Corteze will be the key note speaker. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
