The Ogle County Board continued to move forward on plans for a new sheriff's administration building at Tuesday's night's meeting. Long Range Chairman Don Griffin updated the board on the progress with plans for the new facility.

After looking at the plans the committee decided to incorporate the coroner's office into the new sheriff's building. Currently the morgue is located in the sheriff's department and the coroner's offices are in the Ogle County Courthouse.

"The architects have drawn up new plans that would include the coroner's office and storage at the south end of the new building," Griffin said. The new proposed building is estimated to cost $4.3 million dollars. A final decision on the project will be made by the end of the year.
