OREGON — A Rochelle man pleaded guilty to sexual assault and sexual abuse charges Feb. 26 in Ogle County court.

On Friday afternoon, Chad Rand, 23, of Chicago, formerly of Rochelle, pleaded guilty to one count predatory criminal sexual assault of a child less than 13 years old, a Class X felony, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.

The alleged incidents are reported to have taken place in Rochelle, over the course of several years, between May of 2003 and June of 2005, and included multiple victims.

In September of 2007, Rochelle Police Department detectives, along with assistance from the Illinois State Police Internet Crimes Unit and the Chicago Police Department, executed a search warrant at 851 West Wellington Ave. in Chicago. As a result of the search, officers confiscated several computer hard drives.

Rand’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 13 in Ogle County Court.
