OREGON AARP Tax-Aides will be preparing 2009 Income Tax Returns again this year, for taxpayers with low and middle-income, with special attention to age 60 or older.
It is not necessary to be over 60 years of age, nor is it necessary to be a member of AARP to participate in this program.
Tax Aides will be at the Rock River Center, 215 W. Washington Street in Oregon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning Feb. 2 and ending April 14, from noon until 3:30 p.m.
Taxpayers are reminded to bring a copy of last years tax return, Social Security cards or other official documentation for themselves and all dependents, and any of the following documents that apply to 2009:
W-2 forms from each employer
Unemployment compensation statements
SSA-1099 form showing Social Security benefits received
RRB-1099 or RRB-1099-R forms showing railroad retirement benefits received
all 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, etc) showing interest and/or dividends
documentation showing original purchase price of stocks & other assets sold
1099-MISC showing any miscellaneous income
1099-R form showing pensions and annuities.
receipts for residential energy improvements or equipment purchased
Real Estate Tax bills paid during 2009
receipts for purchase of a new motor vehicle
dependent care provider information (name, address, employer ID or Social Security number)
closing statements for homes purchased Jan. 1, 2009 to April 14, 2010
all forms indicating income taxes paid or withheld
receipts, cancelled checks or other records, if itemizing deductions
