Oregon boys bowling hosts Hawk Invitational

The Oregon boys bowling team hosted the annual Hawk Invitational at Plum Hollow Family Center, Dixon and the boys came away with a first-place team finish with a 5,756 six-game total, 63 pins ahead of second-place Dixon. 

Oregon was led by second-place individual finisher Gavvin Surmo with a 1,262 series, followed closely by third-place individual finisher Brady Davis with a 1,241 series and seventh-place individual finisher Matthew Stahl with an 1,162 series. Also contributing to the championship effort was RJ Keene’s 1,049 series, Codey Dunbar’s 890 series (five games) and Ethan Smice’s 152 game.

The two Oregon girls competed as individuals, and both recorded all-time high games. Katy Miller had an 833 series, including a 201 high game and Ahren Howey had an 802 series, with a 221 high game.

Oregon boys bowling defeats Rockford Lutheran

The Oregon boys bowling team traveled to Park Lanes, Loves Park, to bowl Rockford Lutheran on Dec. 4 and came away with a 3,564-2,357 Big Northern Conference victory.  The Hawks were led by Matthew Stahl with a 653 series (213, 202, 238), followed closely by Codey Dunbar with a 643 series (269 match-high game), Brady Davis’ 627 series, RJ Keene’s 607 series, Gavvin Surmo’s 567 series and Ethan Smice with a 467 series.  

The victory score was Oregon’s highest of the season and raised the season record to 6-2.  The JV remained undefeated on the season and was led by Caleb Ehrler with a 544 series.
