Polo boys basketball team falls to Scales Mound

The Polo High School varsity boys basketball team played a close game against Scales Mound on Saturday. Jan. 20. The Marcos fell by a final score of 64-61 to move to 10-8 overall. Gus Mumford led the Polo team with 25 points, while Nolan Hahn added 11 points and Carter Merdian chipped in seven points. Noah Dewey followed with six points for the Polo team.

Oregon boys basketball team tops Forreston

The Forreston High School varsity boys basketball team hosted Oregon on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Hawks defeated the Cardinals 60-44 behind 16 points from Kade Girton and 15 points from Jameson Caposey. Noah Johnson added 10 points for the Hawks, while Brendan Greenfield recorded an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double to lead the Cardinals. Mickey Probst chipped in 14 points for the Forreston side. 

Polo boys basketball team cruises over Amboy

The Polo High School varsity boys basketball team cruised for a 57-33 win over Amboy on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Brock Soltow dominated the scoring column with 26 points, while Nolan Hahn added 14 points and Noah Dewey totaled eight points. Polo improved to 11-8 overall.

Forreston boys basketball team takes down Ashton-Franklin Center

The Forreston High School varsity boys basketball team scored a 48-34 win over Ashton-Franklin Center on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The Cardinals improved to 7-13 overall with the win over the Raiders. Brenden Greenfield notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Kendall Erdmann led the scoring attack with 14 points. Mickey Probst added 12 points for the Cardinals in the win. 

Forreston girls basketball team loses to Ashton-Franklin Center

The Forreston High School varsity girls basketball team conceded a 48-33 loss to Ashton-Franklin Center on Jan. 19. The Cardinals fell to 5-16 overall with the loss. Ericka Alexander led Forreston with 11 points, while Keeli Larson added eight points and Sydni Badertscher tallied six points in the game.
