Stillman Valley girls basketball team dominates Oregon

The Stillman Valley High School varsity girls basketball team scored a 56-19 win over Oregon on Friday, Jan. 26. Taylor Davidson scored 16 points and Mya Janssen led the Cardinals with 18 points in the game. Amelia Dunseth added 10 points for Stillman Valley and Teagan Champley led Oregon with seven points.

Forreston boys basketball team falls to Milledgeville

The Forreston High School varsity boys basketball team lost to Milledgeville 41-33 on Friday, Jan. 26. Xavier Goeddeke led the Cardinals (7-14 overall) with 12 points and Brenden Greenfield added nine points in the loss. Kendall Erdmann chipped in six points.

Oregon wrestling concedes loss to Morrison

The Oregon High School varsity wrestling team conceded a 39-36 loss against Morrison on Jan. 26. The Hawks moved to 16-11 overall on the season. Winners for the Hawks included Nelson Benesh (forfeit at 113), Jackson Messenger (fall at 120), Zander VandeSand (fall at 175), Quentin Berry (forfeit at 190), Landen Elder (fall at 215) and Briggs Sellers (fall at 285).

Oregon wrestling takes match against Sandwich

The Oregon High School varsity wrestling team took down Sandwich 48-31 on Jan. 26. Winners for the Hawks included Nelson Benesh (fall at 113), Jackson Messenger (fall at 120), Preston LaBay (fall at 126), Jakobi Donegan (fall at 144), Jackson Glendenning (forfeit at 165), Quentin Berry (fall at 190), Landen Elder (forfeit at 215) and Briggs Sellers (forfeit at 285). 

Oregon girls basketball loses against Freeport Aquin

The Oregon High School varsity girls basketball team lost 59-17 against Aquin Catholic on Saturday, Jan. 27. Teagan Champley led the Hawks with seven points in the loss. Mya Engelkes added six points on the Oregon side. 

Oregon girls basketball team falls to Sterling Newman

The Oregon High School varsity girls basketball team lost 41-11 against Sterling Newman on Monday, Jan. 29. Teagan Champley led the Hawks with four points in the loss.

Oregon boys basketball team loses to Rockford Lutheran

The Oregon High School varsity basketball team hosted Rockford Lutheran on Tuesday, Jan. 30, falling 75-67 to move to 13-12 on the season. The JV team won 50-34 and the fresh-soph team won 48-44. Noah Johnson shined for the varsity team, scoring a team-leading 28 points and making seven 3-pointers. Jameson Caposey added 12 points and Keaton Salsbury tallied 11 points for the Hawks in the game. 

Oregon girls basketball team dominates West Carroll

The Oregon High School varsity girls basketball team crushed West Carroll 55-17 on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Teagan Champley led the Hawks with 12 points, while Mya Engelkes and Madison Shaffer each totaled eight points. Ella Dannhorn and Alease McLain both scored seven points.

Polo boys basketball team scores double-overtime victory

The Polo High School varsity boys basketball team outlasted Eastland for a 66-63 win in double overtime on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Brock Soltow eclipsed 1,000 career points for the Marcos and led the team with 29 points. Gus Mumford added 16 points and Carter Merdian chipped in eight points.
