Oregon girls basketball takes down South Beloit

The Oregon High School varsity girls basketball team defeated South Beloit 40-28 on Wednesday, Feb. 7. The JV team won 20-18. Mya Engelkes led the Hawks with nine points, while Sarah Eckardt scored eight points. Alease McLain and Ella Dannhorn each added six points in the win. Oregon improved to 7-22 overall with the win.

Forreston boys basketball loses against Eastland

Oregon girls basketball team battles Forreston

The Oregon High School varsity girls basketball team faced the Forreston High School team on Thursday, Feb. 8. The Cardinals won over the Hawks 48-34 behind 20 points from Jenna Greenfield and nine points from Ericka Alexander. Ella Dannhorn led the Hawks with 11 points, while Sarah Eckardt totaled six points.

Forreston boys basketball team falls to Fulton

The Forreston High School varsity boys basketball team lost against Durand 62-21 on Friday, Feb. 9. The Cardinals dropped to 9-16 overall and 4-6 in the conference. Brenden Greenfield had five points and Mickey Probst added four points for the Forreston team in the loss.

The Forreston High School varsity boys basketball team took down Durand 52-46 on Saturday, Feb. 10. Brenden Greenfield totaled 18 points and seven rebounds, while Mickey Probst added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals, who improved to 10-16 overall and 5-6 in the conference with the win. Kendall Erdmann recorded 12 points and five assists.

Oregon boys basketball team concedes loss to Mendota

The Oregon High School varsity boys basketball team fell 82-72 against Mendota on Saturday, Feb. 10. The JV team lost 51-43 and the fresh-soph team lost 44-36. The varsity team fell to 15-14 overall with the loss. Benny Olalde led the Hawks with 18 points, while Kade Girton added 15 points and two players including Cooper Johnson and Keaton Salsbury had 10.

Forreston boys basketball team takes on Polo

The Forreston High School varsity boys basketball team won over Polo in double overtime on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Cardinals emerged with a 58-55 victory behind a game-winning 3-pointer from Mickey Probst, who had 14 points in the game. Brenden Greenfield recorded 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Kendall Erdmann finished with 12 points and five assists. Gus Mumford led the Marcos with 27 points and Brock Soltow added 10 points.
