Wiggly Wag & Walk back for another year

OREGON – The Oregon Park District invites all dog lovers to the 5thAnnual Wiggly Wag & Walk event at Wiggly Field Dog Park on Wednesday, July 12.
The fun will be happening for pooches and pet owners between 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Entertainment for the evening will include a sampling of agility, obedience, retrieving, and K-9 Officers demonstrating their “jobs.” Guest are encouraged to visit all the pet vendor booths for a chance to win some great “doggie” gift baskets and prizes. Guests do not have to be Wiggly Field members to enjoy the entertainment and vendors. It’s an evening of free fun for all animal lovers.  ou don’t even have to own a dog to come. Come and check out the variety of breeds on hand.

“You will see everything from pure breeds to mutts and they are all adorable,” said Event Coordinator, Debbie Leffelman.
This is a great event to meet other dog owners, find out about local services and rescue organizations, pick up items from pet vendors selling everything from treats to toys and promoting everything from kennels and groomers to pet portraits.
One of the highlights of the evening is participating in the High Card Hound Hike. This hike is $5/dog and consists of a fun 2 mile walk through the park with your hound. There are three different check points where humans and hounds can enjoy a beverage. There are also fun games to play for the dogs as well as treats at each of the checkpoint for your four legged friends. Each participating hound will receive a goodie bag with a bandana, treats and other fun items inside.
With the support of many local pet businesses we are able to have a fun event like the Wiggly Wag and Walk. Special thanks to Pines Meadow Vet Clinic and Ogle County Animal Control. Rabies tags are required for all dogs 4 months and older. All dogs must be on a leash. If you are hoping for dinner at the park as well, you will definitely want to buy an all beef hot dog meal from Dogs on the Run!
