OREGON — Ryan Simmons Miller, 30, of Oregon, passed away, Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 in a farming accident. He was a partner of M & R Farms, Dixon. It was a lifelong dream to farm with his Dad.
Ryan was born, June 29, 1987, in Dixon, the son of Rory and Kathy (Eccles) Miller. Ryan married Jill Ansley Scholl on July 17, 2010 in Bloomington. Ryan was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle and Lee County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed spending time with his family, farming, and was a fan of all sports, especially the Illini and Oregon Hawks. Ryan received a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois and was a member of FarmHouse Fraternity. He was a part-time CPA at Wipfli accounting firm.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Jill Miller; two daughters, Madelyn June and Morgan Bell Miller; his mother, Kathy, of Amboy; one sister, Kelsey (Jake) Firkins, of St. Peters, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Yvonne Eccles, of Dixon; and his In-laws, Jon (Joyce) Scholl, of Cooksville.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at the New Life Lutheran Church, Sterling, and from 10 – 11 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at the church. Pastors from New Life Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church, Rochelle will be co- officiating. Private burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery, Amboy.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Miller family to set up a future college scholarship.
