Robert A. Radville

OREGON – Robert A. Radville, age 77, passed away Nov. 21, 2017 in KSB Hospital, Dixon. Bob was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Chicago, son of Allen and Helen (Juronis) Radville.

He graduated from Gage Park High School, then attended Illinois Institute of Technology and Christian Life School of the Bible. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Lynne Payette on Aug. 24, 1973 in Rockford. He was a self-employed truck driver, driving team with his wife for many years. They put over 2,000,000 miles on their Peterbilt truck, traveling the 48 states and Canada. Home base to California every week was their main haul. He was CEO of Shadowboxer Express, partner and co-owner of Shadowboxer Arabians, Flowers by Radville, Radville’s Garden Center and the Christian Corner Bookstore. Bob was a member of Owner Operator’s Independent Driver’s Association, John Birch Society, Arabian Horse Association, Transport for Christ, and a founding member of Global Harvest Church, fka, Grace Bible Church.

Bob loved his family and family activities, camping, fishing, boating, and helping his girls at horse shows. Getting his love of horses from his wife, he made her dream a reality. A reality that passed down to their children and grandchildren. He loved reading Louis L’Amour books and the cowboy way of life. Trucking and building things, another passion, was passed on to his boys. In the last few years, Bob has taken up cooking, with cherry pies his specialty. His last dinner for us, was lasagna, made totally from scratch, and it was awesome. He will be greatly missed by his family and his furry family of horses, cats, dogs, Molly and Polly, who were blessed by his love and care.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lynne Radville, Oregon; Children: Troy Radville, Oregon, Ty (Wendy) Radville, Forreston, Traci Martin, Kannapolis, N.C., Dawn (Sadafumi) Uchiyama, Portland, Ore. Grandchildren: Lee (Brittany) Cunningham, Kannapolis, N.C., Amanda (Chris) Swedlund, Juda, Wis., Annette Radville, Forreston, Genta and Aiko Uchiyama, Portland, Ore. Great-grandchildren: Briliey, Mason and Allycen Swedlund, Juda, Wis., Lane and Kade Cunningham, Kannapolis, N.C., brother-in-law, Jim Kulik, Elgin, sister-in-law, Dotty Gesswein, Machesney Park, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Jan Kulik and Jean Lawler, brother-in-law, Ray Lawler, and his in-laws, Paul and Faye Payette.

Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mount Morris. A Celebration of Life will be held Dec. 30, 2017 at the Mount Morris Moose Lodge, 101 Moose Dr., Mount Morris, Il., from 1-4 p.m., with Chaplain Jay LaRette leading the service at 2 p.m. Luncheon to follow.
