LEAF RIVER – Patrick M. " pree-pop" Soper, age 67, passed away on Sept. 28, 2017 at Generations neighbors Nursing Home in Byron after a long Battle of COPD. Patrick was born May 7, 1950 in chicago, the son of Leonard and Natalie (Vanderley) Soper.
He was a Vietnam veteran in 1968 and worked mainly as a Chicago cab driver and a OTR truck driver. He was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Bears and the cubs. He was an amazing pool player, chef, and all around amazingly hilarious man.
He was a loving father to His children, Erin Soper, Kevin Soper, Natalie Soper, Stacy (Samuel) Orengo, Kelly Walsh, Lenora (Steve) Ridyard, Heather (Dan) Elsasser. Grandchildren, Michael (Kara) Lawnicki, Steven (Hailey) Lawnicki, Keith Lawnicki, Ciara Irvin, Edward (Brandy) Burkhart, Samantha Burkhart, Jordan (Branden) Hilleman, Zachary (Alyssa) Berna, Caitlin Berna, Elizabeth Elsasser, Demitra Soper, Kevin Soper Jr., Unique Diehl, Chloe Diehl, Hannah Soper, Dominick Anders, Taylor Taft and Olivia Taft. Great grandchildren, Alexis Lawnicki, Emalee Lawnicki, Kayla Lawnicki, Jayden Lawnicki, Kaydence Hilleman, Ethan Hilleman, Sebastian Ramirez, Zane Burkhart, and Avery Berna. Loving brother to Barbara (James) Meagher (Soper) Des Plaines, Danny Soper, Chicago, Carol (Brad) Allen, Saint Louis, Mo., Alice (Gus) Cuevas, Winder, Ga., David Soper and Ruth Emmerich, Merrill, Wis., nieces and nephews, Paul Allen, Brian (Vicki) Meagher, Terrance (Jessica) Meagher, Christina and Joshua Soper, Colleen (Kevin) Lester, Jimmy (Harley) Meagher, Catrina Freeman, Shannon Freeman, Adrian and Andrew Cuevas.
And Preceded in death by his loving wife Judith Soper, parents: Leonard and Natalie, brother Robert Soper.
Memorial service will be Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mount Morris, with Pastor David Poust officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. until service time in Finch Funeral Home, Mount Morris.
