Park District has equipment rental program

OREGON – The Oregon Park District has added a new equipment rental program for patrons to take advantage of the new amenities at Park West.
“When the tennis courts and basketball courts were resurfaced this summer with flex court, the Oregon Park District saw additional ways to add more activities to Park West,” said Executive Director Erin Folk. “In addition to the basketball and tennis courts currently available, we’ve also added four pickleball courts, two shuffle ball courts and two four square courts.”

“We want our community to take advantage of these new additions and have implemented a loan policy to allow patrons to use the new amenities. Equipment is available for loan at Nash Recreation Center,” Folk said.
Nash Recreation Center has outdoor pickleball paddles and shuffleboard sets available for loan. Outdoor pickleballs can be purchased for $1 each. Equipment is loaned and returned at Nash Recreation Center. A full set of rules is also available at Nash. Equipment Loans are available with a signed form and a credit card number that will be held until the equipment is returned. A failure to return fee of $10 per paddle and $75 per shuffleboard set will be assessed if the equipment isn’t returned within 24 hours or the agreed upon time.
“Both pickleball and shuffleboard are great ways to enjoy the park, but we realize the cost may prohibit some families from trying it. We hope this loan program will help patrons use the park in a whole new way,” Folk said.
Nash Recreation Center is open Monday-Friday from 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Loans are done on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be done anytime during open hours. For more information or questions visit Nash Recreation Center or call 815-732-3101.
