Norma J. Boehm

BYRON – Norma J. Boehm, age 88, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Mount Morris. She was born Mar. 20, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Bernard and Emma (Niehaus) Gudenkauf. 

Norma graduated from Watertown, Wis., High School and also received her Registered Nursing Degree from Milwaukee Catholic School of Nursing. She married Robert C. Boehm on Jan. 8, 1955 in Watertown, Wis. She worked as a nurse at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford for over 20 years retiring in 1994. She than worked as a nurse for Ogle County Hospice. Norma was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron. Norma’s family was the main focus of her life, she also enjoyed gardening, knitting, and traveling. 

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Robert. 

She is survived by her 10 children: Mary (Dan) Hermann of Killeen, Texas, Carol Boehm of Green Bay, Wis., Kathy (Erich) Roth of Byron, John Boehm of Tulsa, Okla., Betty Boehm (Ross McCracken) of Pinedale, WY, Pat (Eric) Fairbanks of Boulder, WY, Linda (Tim) Smith of Green Bay, Wis., Donna Boehm (John DiPasquale) of Green Bay, Wis., Marge (Gail) Watson of Mountain Home, Idaho, Jeannette (Steve) Stender of Oregon, 2 brothers: Alvin (Judy) Gudenkauf of Watertown, Wis., and Arnold Gudenkauf of Monroe, Wis., 2 sisters: Betty Marschke of Orange County, Calif., and Mary (Richard) Stanley of Whitewater, Wis.,  17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Christian Funeral Mass was Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron with the Rev. Howard Barch officiating. Visitation was Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant Street in Byron. Burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Byron. A memorial fund is established for the Pinecrest Manor Terrace in Mount Morris or Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
