LEAF RIVER – Nonie L. Wiles, age 83, died peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her home near Leaf River surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 1, 1934 in Davis Junction the daughter of Francis and Doris (Farrell) Foster. 

She graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1952. She married John “Jack” Wiles on Dec. 6, 1952 at the 2nd Congregational Church in Rockford. Together they owned and operated the Wiles-Wood Camp Ground on South Bend Road in Rockford and also farmed the land there. In 1968, they purchased and operated the family farm near Leaf River. Nonie and Jack enjoyed 45 years spending time at their lake home on Lake Ripley, Wis. Nonie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the Leaf River United Methodist Church and Kishwaukee Community Evangelical Presbyterian Church. 

She is survived by her husband John Wiles, 4 children: Christy Amundson (Lee Heeren), John (Cindy) Wiles, Jr., James (Melinda) Wiles, and Tamera (Dale) Montgomery, Grandchildren: Laura (Johnny) Prenot, Lindsey(Karac) Kotajarvi, Liz Amundson, Wendy (Nolan) Campbell, Jennifer (Joshua) Simmons, Chandra (Titus) Jackson, Nicole (Mark) Wood, Jessica (Jason) Stoll, Alex Wiles, April (Preston) Wyssbrod, and Carl (Lauren) Montgomery, 19 great grandchildren, her sister Karen Hall-Stade (Gordon Stade), and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her parents, her great grandson Gregory Wood, son-in-law Richard Amundson, and brother-in-law Bart Hall. 

A Celebration of Life Service was held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Kishwaukee Community Evangelical Presbyterian Church near Stillman Valley with the Rev. Eric Tonjes pastor of the church officiating followed by time to express condolences at the church. Private burial took place prior to the service at the Big Mound Cemetery near Davis Junction.  A memorial fund is established for the Big Mound Cemetery.
