OREGON – The Oregon Park District and Nash Recreation Center Fitness Center staff  invites the public to a fitness center open house on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 2-6 p.m.
The Fitness Center staff and personal trainers will be on hand in both the Fitness Center and Prairie Room to show off recent upgrades and additions to these areas.
The Fitness Center has upgraded and added new machines including treadmills, NuStep Trainer, upright cycles, air bikes, recumbent bikes, rower, Lateral X and a new squat rack with free weights.
The Prairie Room, located on the first level, has been fully outfitted to include TRX equipment, jump boxes, slam balls, spin bikes, free weights, dumbbells, kettlebells, BOSU balls, stability balls, yoga mats and resistance bands.

Join our personal trainers, Kim Henry and Kaitlyn Schuler, as well as fitness center supervisors for orientations and demonstrations on the new equipment and tour the recently outfitted Prairie Room and upgraded Fitness Center.
“The staff is excited to showcase the new equipment and uses for the Prairie Room, said Matt Mekeel, superintendent of recreation. “With the addition of the fitness equipment to the Prairie Room, we’ve essentially added an additional workout room that can be used for spin classes, personal training or a full body workout. The Oregon Park District Board of Commissioners and Staff is committed to keeping our facility current and these new additions offer something for everyone.”
The staff will have interactive games and prizes for anyone that would like to participate. Games will include a push-up contest on the BOSU ball, kettlebell races, spin bike classes, rower fishing contest and a race on Jacob’s Ladder.
Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 2-6 p.m. for prizes, games, healthy snacks and learn about the new additions to Nash Recreation Center.
