OREGON – Spend a pleasant morning or evening in the great outdoors.
Learn about native plants and animals from a knowledgeable leader. Enjoy native wildlife – deer, turkeys, maybe a fox or rare ornate box turtle; delight in seeing beautiful butterflies flitting from flower to flower. Learn which plants are desirable and which are noxious weeds. While you learn, give nature a helping hand removing the weeds you are learning about, or collecting seed from the plants that should be preserved.
The Prairie Preservation Society of Ogle County will lead learning and working and make it enjoyable. On Sunday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m., and Saturday, Aug.12 at 9 a.m., weed and seed workshops will be held at Sand Ridge, 2879 S. Daysville Rd, Oregon.
Join PPSOC enjoying nature and helping it as you enjoy it. Wear long pants and sleeves and bring gloves.
