Dorothy “Dot” E. Thompson

BYRON – Dorothy “Dot” E. Thompson, passed away on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at her home with loved ones by her side. She was born on May 16, 1946 in Rockford the daughter of Harvey and Dorothy (Crone) Trenholm.

Dorothy was a hard worker who spent 28 years working for Kysor in Byron and 10 years working at Bergstrom. In her free time, she enjoyed feeding the birds and crocheting. Dorothy was a flower lover and enjoyed having them around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Jerry Thompson, brothers, Don, Larry, George, and Steve, sister, Judy, and granddaughter Angela.

Dorothy is survived by her children, James Thompson and Julie (Bill) Sigley; the love of her life, David Schilling; grandchildren, Katie Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Tyler Thompson; and  great grand children, Lauren Wellman, Brooke Wellman, Anthony Wellman.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 from 10 a.m.-noon at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron. Memorials are established for Serenity Hospice.
