OREGON – Doris J. (Rhea) Nevenhoven, 85, longtime Oregon resident, died Friday July 21, 2017 in Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon. Born April 24, 1932 in Freeport, the daughter of Nonne and Fannie (Kerkhoff) Buss.
Married to Jack C. Rhea Jan. 17, 1955 in Freeport; he died May 29, 1998. She then married Wilbur Nevenhoven in 2003; he too preceded her in death.
Survived by her daughter, Pam (Gary) Ferge of Mount Morris; sons, Dennis (Barb) Rhea and Scott (Shelly) Rhea, both of Oregon; grandchildren: Bret Ferge, Angela Schwartz, Holly (Jason) Neal, Andrew Rhea and Sommer Rhea; great grandchildren: Brady Schwartz, August Schwartz and Madison Neal; and sisters, Joyce McAuliffe and Kathleen Foster.
Also preceded in death by her parents, sister Lorraine and brother Lawrence.
In keeping with the wishes of Doris, cremation with a private family burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ name may be made to Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon assisted the family with arrangements.
