MOUNT MORRIS – Carol S. Marcoux, 81, longtime Oregon/Mount Morris resident, died Friday Jan. 5, 2018 in KSB Hospital, Dixon. Born June 18, 1936 in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Herman and Irene (Robison) Thompson.

Married to David Marcoux Feb. 23, 1957 in Garden City, Michigan; he died Nov. 20, 1998. Carol was a graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit and was employed 32 years at Borg-Warner in Dixon, retiring in 1998. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Forreston. Carol was an avid reader and Cubs fan, enjoyed the slot machines and a beer or two, and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

Survived by her daughter, Janice (Rick) Danekas of Mount Morris; son, Neal (Jerri Welty) Marcoux of Dixon; grandchildren: Jason Marcoux, Erica Danekas and Kurtis (Aletta) Danekas; great-grandchildren: Cheyanne Edlund, Briggs Danekas and Falon Marcoux: and sisters, Dorathy Lyman and Betty Taylor, both of Lavonia, Michigan.

Also predeceased by her parents and daughter, Cathy Ann. A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Lucy Wynard of St. James Lutheran Church, Forreston officiated. Burial in Daysville Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials in Carol's name may be made to the Mt. Morris Public Library or Granny Rose Animal Shelter, Dixon.
