Davis Junction man arrested on criminal sexual abuse charge

DAVIS JUNCTION -- Ogle County Sheriff's Police arrested a Davis Junction man on Wednesday after receiving an alleged report of a sex related incident that took place on February 11th.
After further investigation, 51-year old Michael Koch was arrested on the felony offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
The alleged incident involves a juvenile who reported inappropriate contact by Koch.

Polo student wins regional spelling bee, Oregon student takes 2nd

The Lee/Ogle Regional Spelling Bee was held Thursday, February 19.
Winning after 28 rounds was Rebekah Zeigler, a 4th Grader from Centennial Elementary School, Polo. Zeigler won after going back and forth between herself and Lydia Cermak, a 6th grader from Oregon Elementary School. After Cermak mispelled tuckahoe, Zeigler corrected spelled lederhosen and then Borzoi to win the
